Webb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies recently were dispatched to Bruni, Texas, for a burglary of building. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller, who stated that a male subject had burglarized the Bruni Rural Water Supply Corporation Office.

Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect was using with what appeared to be a stick with tape on the end reaching in the drop box to extract money orders or checks.

After looking at surveillance cameras around the building and continuing with the investigation, deputies proceeded to search the community for a possible suspect. When deputies approached the suspect and searched for any evidence that could point to the robbery, Juan Jose Herrera, 46, confessed being responsible for the burglary.

Herrera was charged with burglary of building and criminal trespass. He was transported to the Webb County Jail with a combined $5,000 bond.
