The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than nine pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Sunday, April 5, in La Salle County.
At approximately 4:36 pm, a DPS trooper stopped a Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer traveling north on Interstate Highway 35 near mile marker 42, for a traffic violation. After a vehicle search, the Trooper discovered four taped–wrapped bundles of cocaine concealed underneath the passenger seat. The cocaine had an estimated street value of $135,040.
The driver, Adrian Gonzalez-Ibarra, 46, was arrested and charged with felony possession of controlled substance, and was booked into the La Salle County Jail. DPS Criminal Investigation Division is further investigating this case.
